The concept of having a wave on the back-edge of a band saw blade has been around for decades but never really taken off in the UK steel sawing market.
Over the past few years our dedicated application engineers have been working hard researching what effect the waved band saw blade can have on the tool life whether that is carbide tipped or bi-metal.
Our experiences have shown that tool life and cutting speeds can be dramatically increased when cutting hard nickel based alloys such as Inconel 718, Inconel 625, titanium and stainless steel.
The increased tool life reduces down-time, tool changes, scrapping material and reduces cost per cut.
Reduced cutting times enable our customers to increase productivity, reduce operational and energy costs.
The unique sawing action created when engineering a chamfer (wave) helps the tooth to penetrate in to the material without any extra pressure from the band saw machine.
